For employers in Houston, Austin, and Dallas–Fort Worth

Hire a job-ready young adult. Host an apprenticeship that changes a life.

Azgari Foundation trains young adults ages 16–25 leaving foster care and the juvenile justice system in IT help desk, bookkeeping, digital marketing, web development, and administrative support. We are looking for Texas employers to host paid apprenticeships, internships, and entry-level hires as graduates complete training. No placement fee. No contract. A mentor stays attached after the start date.

What we are asking of you

One opening. A paid apprenticeship, an internship, or a regular entry-level role in a field we train for. You hire the way you always hire: interview, check references, pick the person you would have picked anyway. We handle the rest of the support, before and after the start date, at no cost to you.

Step 1

Tell us the role

Job title, wage range, schedule, city, and a few sentences on the day-to-day work. A link to your posting is enough if you have one.

Step 2

Meet the candidates who fit

Within two business days we reply with a candid read on which current or upcoming graduates match, what track they trained in, and what they can already do.

Step 3

Hire on your terms

Your interview, your offer, your payroll. A Foundation mentor stays attached to the new hire through onboarding and the first months on the job.

Roles our graduates are trained for

Training is hands-on and project-based, taught by volunteer educators who work in the field, using the tools the field uses. Sixteen to 24 weeks at 15 to 20 hours a week, on top of whatever job, school, or caregiving the participant was already carrying.

IT help desk

Help desk technician, desktop support, junior IT generalist. Ticket triage, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace account administration, documentation.

Bookkeeping & accounting clerk

Bookkeeping clerk, AP/AR clerk, accounting assistant. Transactions, invoicing, reconciliations, basic financial reports in standard software.

Digital marketing specialist

Marketing coordinator, social media coordinator, paid-ads assistant. Content calendars, small Google and Meta campaigns, AI drafting tools, analytics.

Web developer

Junior web developer, website maintainer, web coordinator. Small-business sites built with AI-assisted tools, mobile and search optimization, forms and integrations.

Administrative assistant

Administrative assistant, office coordinator, operations support. Calendars, inboxes, scheduling, records, office operations.

Graduates are not certified on any specific employer's systems, and 16 to 24 weeks of training is not years of experience. Expect to do the same onboarding you would do for any new hire. See the full curriculum for each track.

Where we are placing first

The Foundation is headquartered in Austin and is building its first employer network across the three largest Texas metros. Training is fully online, so a graduate in your area can start on-site, hybrid, or remote.

Houston

Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties. Strong fit for help desk, AP/AR, and administrative roles in healthcare, energy services, logistics, and professional offices.

Austin

Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties. Home base for the Foundation. Strong fit for IT support, web, and marketing roles at startups, agencies, and small firms.

Dallas–Fort Worth

Dallas, Collin, Denton, and Tarrant counties. Strong fit for bookkeeping, help desk, and administrative roles across finance, insurance, and business services.

Why employers do this

  • A screened, motivated pipeline. Every graduate finished a structured program before a paycheck was on the table. That filters for showing up, learning, and staying, which entry-level hiring managers say is the hardest thing to interview for.
  • Lower onboarding risk. Each hire has a mentor from the Foundation. If something goes sideways in the first weeks, there is a second adult in the loop whose job is to help it work.
  • Possible hiring incentives. Hires from foster care or the justice system may qualify your business for the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit and for Texas Workforce Commission programs such as on-the-job training reimbursement. Eligibility is set by the IRS and TWC, not by us. Ask your CPA or local workforce board; we will point you to the forms.
  • Community standing. You are giving a young adult who aged out of the system a first professional job. That is a story your team and your customers will care about.

Where things stand

As of September 2026, our first cohort is in training and the first graduates are expected in late 2026. Employers who register now are matched first as candidates become available, and we will contact you with candidates only for the roles you describe. Individual results vary; the Foundation does not guarantee any specific hire, placement, or outcome for employers or participants.

Employer questions

Does the Foundation charge a placement fee or take a cut of wages?

No. There is no fee to employers, no contract, and the Foundation never invoices for or takes any share of a participant's pay.

Are these Registered Apprenticeships?

Not at this time. We use "apprenticeship" to describe a paid, structured, mentored placement you host. If you already sponsor a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship, our graduates can apply to it like any other candidate.

Who pays the apprentice or intern?

You do, through your normal payroll, at a wage you set. Some employers offset part of the cost with TWC on-the-job training funds or the Work Opportunity Tax Credit. We can help you find the right contact at your local workforce board.

Can I host someone remote or part time?

Yes. Many participants are balancing school or another job. Part-time, hybrid, and remote roles are all welcome. Tell us the schedule in the form.

What if it does not work out?

You are under no obligation to keep any hire. Tell the mentor early. Often a schedule or communication issue can be fixed; if not, you part ways the way you would with any employee.
